Best Mexican Food in Boerne

Our food came out in a timely manner and was so flavorful. We ordered trucha a la plancha with ajillo sauce and pollo con huitlacoche. I personally like exploring new flavors and the pollo con huitlacoche was done so well. Of course we have to shout out our server Hector, he made great recommendations and was very attentive. Overall a wonderful experience!

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Monday. The restaurant wasn’t too busy. The staff was quick to bring chips and salsa and take our drink order. I ended up getting a house margarita. A little too sweet for me. Next time I will try one of their other cocktails. They started us off with a cup of fideo soup which was complementary. I'm so impressed. Great food, awesome venue - the back wall is fabulous, good service, and an excellent margarita. The salsa and thin crispy chips are great. Not spicy but very flavorful. The margarita selection is extensive but I recommend the Flakido - simple and perfect. No sours mix hiding the excellence of the liquor. Try it with Don Julio Silver. The restaurant is great! Service is excellent, I was greeted by the owner Don Fernando Santafe, and you can tell after meeting him why the food and everything is of the highest standard. I ordered a Chile en nogada as appetizer, my favorite and it was delicious, the stuffing was crispy and sweet. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a great ambiance and have a great time in Boerne.

We ate at Las Guittarras Restaurant last night. It has become our go-to Mexican restaurant in Boerne, mainly because, being natives of New Mexico, we can order New Mexican style enchiladas that rival those we'd find in Santa Fe. The margaritas are also very good! And we like the ambiance, with the restaurant set in an old building on Main Street. The service is always friendly and competent, too. Highly recommend!
